SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Scottsdale's new White Castle location has only been in business for one year and it's already the famed burger chain's top performing restaurant.

According to a company news release, the restaurant sold 4.2 million sliders in one year. It also sold 19,000 of White Castle's 30-Slider Crave Cases, more than any other Castle in the country.

"We had so many loyal fans in Arizona who were eagerly anticipating White Castle's arrival, but the response this past year has been better than we could have anticipated," Jamie Richardson, vice president at White Castle, said in a statement. "Everyone in the Scottsdale area has been so warm and welcoming, and they have a Crave the size of the Grand Canyon."

In addition to selling the most sliders, the Scottsdale location is also the biggest in the chain's history. It employs 93 people and can accommodate 200 guests in its space. White Castle has been in business for nearly 100 years and boasts more than 360 restaurants in 14 states. Scottsdale's Castle, near Talking Stick, is the first company-owned restaurant west of the Mississippi and the only Arizona location.

When the location opened in October 2019, it did so to much fanfare. The Ohio-based burger chain is a favorite of midwestern transplants now living in Arizona.

"We are so glad to have a Castle in Arizona," Richardson said. "Even with the pandemic, we continue to renew acquaintances and make new friends every day. We're so thankful for our team members and all they do to serve up that one-of-a-kind, steamed-grilled taste our customers love and crave."
