4th Of July Weather: Holiday Forecast For Tucson

TUCSON, AZ — Before your head to the 4th of July fireworks shows in the Tucson area, be sure to pack an umbrella before you go.

As we approach the holiday, your Independence Day festivities are no doubt confirmed. But, as most of us know, Mother Nature is fickle and could always step in and ruin the best-laid plans with a trifecta of rain, storms and cloudy skies.

Unfortunately, it looks as if that might be the case for the 4th of July weekend in Tucson, according to the most recent forecast for our area.

Rain chances peak on Friday in Tucson, with a 54 percent shot at precipitation in the city limits, with a 63 percent chance on Mount Lemmon and anywhere from a 60-68 percent chance of rain in parts of southern Pima and Santa Cruz counties, the National Weather Service said.

From there, rain chances remain at 54 percent in the Old Pueblo on Saturday, before falling to 38 percent on July 4, the service said.

High temperatures on July 4 will be 97 degrees in Tucson and hovering around 100 in Marana and in Pinal County.

Want a second opinion? Accuweather forecast something a bit different.

The weather forecasting website gives Tucson a 50 percent chance of rain on Friday, with 40 percent and 12 percent odds on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Accuweather believes the high temperature in Tucson will vary, from 96 degrees on Friday to 97 on Saturday and 98 by Sunday.
