AZ Association For Economic Development Names New Board Member

Amanda Bruno, project manager for the Office of Economic Initiatives, has been elected to the Board for a two-year term.

The City of Tucson is pleased to announce that Amanda Bruno, project manager for the Office of Economic Initiatives, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) for a two-year term, beginning in fiscal year 2022.

AAED is a statewide membership organization for economic development professionals, offering professional development and networking opportunities to economic development practitioners, and is an advocate for responsible economic development in Arizona. AAED has more than 500 members across the state of Arizona, including representatives from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors, and elected officials.

Amanda Bruno joined AAED as a MPA student in 2019 and has been an active member of the organization, serving on the Professional Education, Government Affairs, and Southern Arizona Committees, and as vice chair of the Young Professionals Affinity Group. She joined the City of Tucson Office of Economic Initiatives in February of this year.

“I am delighted that Amanda has been elected to the Board of AAED,” said Barbra Coffee, director of Economic Initiatives for the City of Tucson. “This elevates our exposure across the state and builds our name recognition. Amanda’s involvement will lead to better relationships and greater success for our economic development efforts.”

The City of Tucson is well-represented in the field of economic development. Coffee serves on the Board of Directors of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), a professional organization of more than 5,000 economic development professionals worldwide.
