Coronavirus: Tucson Courts Further Delay Hearings, More

Tucson residents with court hearings at the city court will receive letters with rescheduled dates.

TUCSON, AZ — Tucson is extending its city court operational changes through April 17 in its fight to slow the spread of the coronavirus, the city said in a release. There will be limited in-person access to the building during this time.

The court building will be open for these activities, according to the release:

  • People seeking orders of protection or appearing for related hearings. Otherwise, attendance is limited to counsel, court staff, law enforcement, and interpreters.
  • Domestic Violence Court attendance is limited to the attorneys, law enforcement, court staff and interpreters.
  • Mental Health Court attendance is limited to the above persons and treatment providers.

Court attendees will only be allowed in person, except for under certain circumstances, if the assigned judge approves it.

The city said initial appearances will continue at the jail.

Filing of documents can be done by emailing the Tucson court or by mail to 103 E Alameda, Tucson, AZ 85701.

Payments due to the court can be made by calling 520-791-4216 or at the Tucson court website.

The Court Probation Unit, Corrective Solutions will offer telephonic interviews. To schedule, call 520-837-3068 or send an email.

People with hearings are having them rescheduled and should expect notices by mail.
