Early Morning Fire Damages Tucson Mexican Restaurant

An on-duty police officer was driving by Los Betos on North Oracle Road when he noticed smoke coming from the restaurant.

TUCSON, AZ—An early morning fire badly damaged a Tucson restaurant over the weekend.

According to the Tucson Fire Department, an on-duty police officer was driving by Los Betos on North Oracle Road when he noticed smoke coming from the restaurant.

Firefighters quickly arrived on the scene shortly after and extinguished the fire around 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

Firefighters did not say what caused the blaze; however, the restaurant's kitchen sustained heavy smoke and fire damage.

It took 11 units and 26 firefighters 22 minutes to control the fire, firefighters said. Fortunately, there were no injuries.
