Excessive Heat Warning Issued In Tucson
The National Weather Service forecasts temperatures in Tucson on Thursday could climb to 105 degrees.
TUCSON, AZ — The National Weather Service on Thursday issued an Excessive Heat Warning for the Tucson area. Residents are encouraged to avoid spending too much time in the heat, which can cause cramps, exhaustion and even heat stroke.
The Weather Service said temperatures Thursday afternoon are expected to reach 105 degrees. The warning extends until 8 p.m. on Thursday.
According to The Weather Service, residents should stay indoors, drink water, dress appropriately and avoid alcoholic, sugary and caffeinated drinks.

Heat-related illness poses a serious threat to Tucson-area residents, the Weather Service says. Signs of heat exhaustion include cool, moist, pale skin; headache; dizziness; weakness or exhaustion; and nausea. The symptoms of heat stroke include vomiting, confusion, throbbing headache, decreased alertness or loss of consciousness, body temperature above 105 degrees, dry skin, rapid weak pulse, rapid shallow breathing and seizures.
