First Look: FC Tucson Unveils 'Desert Kingsnake' Home Uniforms

TUCSON, AZ — FC Tucson has unveiled a new uniform kit honoring a slithering Southern Arizona staple.

The USL League One side will honor the humble kingsnake this season, with the team's home uniform kit nicknamed "The Desert Kingsnake Kit," the team said.

The kit, which will debut during FC Tucson's home opener on Saturday night against Forward Madison FC, features a black hexagonal gradient design and the words "Desert King" across the neckplate.

There will also be a kingsnake design in gold on the neck of the jersey, the team said.

The team worked with Southern Arizona Reptile Rescue & Education to feature its rescued kingsnake, Yassin, in the team's video unveiling the jerseys.

“We are very excited to unveil The Desert Kingsnake Kit that embodies our beloved local kingsnake and represents the strength of the desert,” FC Tucson President Amanda Powers said in the release. “We are proud to pay tribute to Southern Arizona with our first home kit with PUMA and look forward to defending the desert for our 2021 USL League One season.”

The snake-themed uniforms will be FC Tucson's home jerseys throughout the course of the 2021 USL League One season, the team said.
