How A COVID-19 Vaccination In Pima County Could Win You $10,000
Pima County is teaming up with the Arizona Lottery to offer scratcher tickets to anyone that gets a COVID-19 vaccination this weekend.
TUCSON, AZ — Anyone that gets a COVID-19 vaccination at one of Pima County's sites this weekend has a shot at winning $10,000.
That's because the county has teamed up with the Arizona Lottery to offer $2 scratchers with a grand prize of $10,000 to anyone that gets a jab over the Memorial Day weekend.
The collaboration is part of a test incentive effort to boost COVID-19 vaccination rates in Southern Arizona.

Approximately 200 scratchers will be made handed out at the county's vaccination sites at Westgate Shopping Center and Pima Community College's Desert Vista Campus, the county said.
Both locations are open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. each day, with each location having 100 scratchers available.

Additionally, anyone that gets a COVID-19 vaccination at the FEMA clinic at Pima Air and Space Museum will get free admission to the facility from now until May 29, the county said.
The museum vaccination site is open from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. daily.
“We know there are a lot of people still deciding whether to get the vaccine, or who are willing to get vaccinated if the circumstances are right. If incentives like the museum tickets or the Lottery tickets help give someone that final bit of motivation to get their shot, then it makes sense to give them a try,” said Pima County Health Department Director Dr. Theresa Cullen in a statement.
Depending on the success of the weekend's trial, the county may add additional incentives to get more members of the public to visit one of the region's COVID-19 vaccination sites, the county said.
