New numbers out of Pima County show 49 cases of the coronavirus and one death. Testing is available for some in Tucson.

TUCSON, AZ — New statistics announced Wednesday by the Arizona Department of Health Services show that 49 people in the county have tested positive for the new coronavirus, with one confirmed death. State authorities have been taking measures to slow the spread of the virus and offer assistance to those affected.

Testing is available in Tucson, but only for those that qualify. Banner Health has set up drive-thru coronavirus testing sites for residents with symptoms who call in for appointments.

Pima County's website lists 46 positive cases, not having been updated with the state's numbers. Of the 46 cases, 54 percent are men and 46 percent are women. The total of 46 is up three from Tuesday.

In total, the Arizona Department of Health Services reported Wednesday, there are 401 coronavirus cases in Arizona, including six deaths.

According to Johns Hopkins University numbers released Wednesday afternoon, there have been 20,857 deaths worldwide of 460,250 coronavirus cases.
