Launch Leftover Halloween Pumpkins At 4th Annual Pumpkin Smash
Tucson area residents can launch, sling, roll or demolish their leftover spooky-faced Halloween pumpkins at the 4th Annual Pumpkin Smash.

TUCSON, AZ — Not sure what to do with those leftover spooky-faced Halloween pumpkins? The Community Food Bank’s 4th Annual Pumpkin Smash on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. gives those done with their pumpkins the chance to engage in some hands-on smashing, rolling or airborne sling launching of those vitamin A loaded gourds. The event also turns those festive orange fruits into compost to benefit the food bank’s community farm.
Besides pumpkin tosses and demolition, other activities at the event, held at the Milpitas Community Farm at 2405 S. Cottonwood Lane in Tucson, include live music, food trucks, a kids corner and local vendors. Pumpkin cooking demonstrations, treats and recipes are also provided.
The family-oriented activity is free.
