Light Display In Tucson Must Come Down, Homeowners Group Says
Frank Morales said he's never been told of a problem with the annual display until this year.
TUCSON, AZ — A popular Christmas light display on the North Side of Tucson needs to come down more than two weeks before the holiday, a homeowners association told Frank Morales, who has put together the dazzling display that resembles one from Christmas movies each of the past five years.
Morales told News 4 Tucson no one has ever had a problem with the display until now, when the homeowners association cited a rule that all displays must be taken down 30 days after they are put up. They told him it must come down by the end of Sunday, Morales told the news station.
He said the homeowners association started counting the 30 days too early.

"Me building a couple of props and little stuff is the day they started which wasn't up. I would put small things up," he told News 4 Tucson.
Risking a fine of $50 a day for every day the display stays up past Dec. 6, Morales said he has no plans to take it down until Christmas Day.

"I love to see all of the smiling kids and faces," he said. "Kids singing in the entire neighborhood, just to have that joyful celebration this year, it's been a bad year."
Morales' light display runs from 6-10 p.m. every night.
