Nighttime Road Work Set For May 6-13

The county will complete final striping operations at various locations during overnight hours.

Starting Thursday, May 6, Pima County Department of Transportation along with its contractor, VSS International, Inc., will complete final striping operations at various locations.

The following roads will be striped beginning Thursday, May 6 through Thursday, May 13, between the nighttime hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.:

  • Alvernon Way from south of Aeronautical Way to Aerospace Parkway
  • Camino Verde from Nebraska Street to Valencia Road
  • Anklam Road from Speedway Boulevard to west of North Players Club Drive
  • Tanque Verde Road from Tanque Verde Acres Drive to Tomahawk Trail
  • Alvernon Way south of Valencia Road
  • La Canada Drive from Ina Road to River Road
  • La Cholla Boulevard from Overton Road to Magee Road

One lane of traffic will be open in each direction at all times. Due to the nature of this work, this will be a fast–moving activity. Please approach the area with caution and obey all traffic control devices.

In the event of mechanical failure or inclement weather, the construction schedule is subject to change.

In Fiscal Year 2020/2021, the Pima County Board of Supervisors and Transportation Department allocated $56 million in road repair and preservation funding for the Road Repair and Preservation Program.
