OneAZ Community Foundation Selects Tucson Charities For Grants

A trio of Tucson nonprofit groups were among the 14 groups picked by One AZ Community Foundation. Here's what you need to know.

TUCSON, AZ — A trio of Tucson-based nonprofits are among the 14 groups selected for OneAZ Community Foundation's Together is Better grants.

The three groups that received funding were Reach for the Stars, I am You 360 and Southern Arizona Book Heroes.

The $290,000 Together is Better grant funding was handed out to groups that helped build a strong foundation for Arizona's economic stability, including children's health groups, food banks, financial education groups, veterans' interest groups and local youth programs, the company said.

Reach for the Stars is a food bank that supports the Tucson area that plans on using funding to support the facility's backpack program, providing food and other necessities for children.

I am You 360 is a financial literacy and local youth program that aims to empower young people through a self-affirmation program that is centered on boosting youth self-worth, self-esteem, self-dignity and self-confidence.

Southern Arizona Book Heroes is a youth program that teams up with local first responders to comfort and treat children's emotional wounds.

  • I am You 360, Tucson
  • Southern Arizona Book Heroes, Tucson
