Oracle State Park Would Get $4 Million In Upgrades In Ducey Plan
Governor Ducey's budget includes money that would change Oracle State Park into a travel destination for people from in and out of Arizona.

TUCSON, AZ – Oracle State Park just north of Tucson is having trouble living up to its potential. It's not the park's fault. Like with so many things in life – it's about money.
Governor Ducey wants to fix that.
His recently introduced budget includes $4 million to provide upgrades to the park.

If the legislature approved, the 4,000-acre park – which is currently open during the day – will become a 24-hour destination, finally becoming open for visitors who want to spend the night.
The plan would provide for dozens of recreational vehicle sites, nearly two dozen cabins, and another nearly two dozen tent sites.

Officials hope is that by increasing use of the park, it will generate more revenue.
The legislature still has to approve the budget. There will be hearings on the Oracle State Park proposal, with action expected in May.
