Pedestrian Killed By Impaired Driver: Tucson PD

Police say a 21-year-old man was leaving a house party with friends, crossing a street, when he was hit by a driver trying to stop.

TUCSON, AZ — A pedestrian was killed in Tucson early Sunday morning after being hit by a car, according to a release from the Tucson Police Department.

Soon before 1 a.m. Sunday, police say, Isaiah Suazo and a group of friends were leaving a house party and crossed the street in the 700 block of West Drexel Road. One car stopped to let the group, not in a crosswalk, pass, police said.

Another car had to swerve to avoid rear-ending the first car, police say, ending up in the universal left turn lane. The driver tried to stop the car, but hit Suazo anyway.
