Pima County Offers Grocery Shopping Service To Seniors
The Pima Council on Aging is offering new services to senior citizens to encourage them to stay home and stay healthy amid the coronavirus.
TUCSON, AZ — A new Pima County program aims to keep senior citizens safe during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The Pima Council on Aging will now offer grocery shopping services to those wishing to stay home.
The program will be funded by the CARES Act and through a partnership with the City of Tucson.
According to Arizona Department of Health Services data, there were 92 new coronavirus cases in Pima County Thursday. Arizona now has 196,280 total cases and 4,684 deaths though new reported cases and the number of hospital visits with COVID-like symptoms are stabilizing.

"With COVID-19, it is important for people 60 years of age and older to avoid trips outside of their home and to maximize physical distancing," the group said in a statement about the program.

In order to qualify, individuals must be 6o years of age or older and have an average annual income at or below $25,520 per person.
