Pima County Public Library: It’s Time For Summer Learning

(Tucson, AZ) Summer Learning, opens a new window—Imagine Our Story—will launch on Saturday, May 29th from 1 to 3 pm with an event featuring author and meditation guide Rebekah Borucki, opens a new window. The event, sponsored by the Library's Kindred Team, will include a Q&A with the author, a reading from the book Zara's Big Messy Day (that Turned Out Okay), opens a new window, and a short meditation. Starting Tuesday, June 1, stop by any library to pick up a reading tracker. Aim for 20 minutes of reading a day.

Create your own story! Send your story to us, and we may make it into an illustrated Story Sketch, opens a new window published on the Library's YouTube Kids channel.

Pick up an Arizona State Parks coupon, while supplies last, at any library. The coupon can be used for one free child admission (ages 2–14) when accompanied by one paid adult admission.

Pick up a book, while supplies last, at the Library beginning Tuesday, June 1.

Tweens and teens are invited to share art, photographs, stories, audio, and video. Check out one (or all) of these workshops designed to support tweens and teens in completing projects:

Youth ages 14–18 are encouraged to join this writing group, opens a new window, facilitated by Marge Pellegrino—this summer's Writer in Residence, opens a new window

Teens ages 14–18 can volunteer, opens a new window to work with other teens and librarian mentors on meaningful projects from home.

Even though in-person programs are still on hold, the Library has events you can enjoy from home! These events are presented in partnership with the Children's Museum, the Reid Park Zoo, Pima County Natural Resources Park and Recreation, and Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, among others.
