Pride Celebrations In Tucson: 2021 Guide

Pride events will go from June-October this year in Tucson. Here's your 2021 guide to Pride events happening around Southern Arizona.

TUCSON, AZ — As more people get vaccinated and more places in Southern Arizona begin to open up, so are events commemorating the area's LGBTQIA+ community.

Tucson Pride is back after being cancelled last year during the pandemic. Members of the LGBTQIA+ community as well as allies are invited to take part in Pride celebrations across the country.

Here is your guide to Pride events happening in 2021 throughout the Tucson area:

June

June 11 — FC Tucson's LGBTQ+ Pride Night vs. the Chattanooga Red Wolves at 7 p.m. FC Tucson is hosting an LGBTQ+ Pride Night Saturday that includes a free T-shirt. Saturday's match pits seventh-place FC Tucson against sixth-place Chattanooga, with both sides looking to bolster their postseason chances with a win in the contest. Tickets for the match are available on FC Tucson's website, with T-shirts being given out on a first come, first serve basis.

June 13 — LGBTQ+ Improv Jam: Tucson Improv Movement is hosting a Pride-themed night of comedy, inviting members of the LGBTQ+ community to take the stage at company's the free event. The event is described as an introduction of sorts to the world of improv for members of the Tucson LGBTQ+ community, while having fun in a safe and inclusive environment.

June 18-20 — Bisbee Pride: The Southern Arizona hamlet of Bisbee is hosting a three-day Pride event in June, located roughly 90 minutes southeast of Tucson. This year's event features a pool party, drag shows, a pub crawl and food and drinks.

June 26 — IBT's Pride Party: 4th Avenue's oldest LGBTQ+ bar is hosing a Pride Month party, hosted by Janee Star, with special guests Sherry Vine, Tempest Dujour, India Ferrah and Savannah F. James. The party kicks off at 9 p.m., with tickets costing $20, including cover and a seat to the show.

Oct. 2 — Tucson Pride in the Desert 2021: Arizona's oldest pride event returns for its 46th iteration in early October at Tucson's Reid Park. The event, which is hosted by the Tucson Lesbian and Gay Alliance, has been a mainstay in Southern Arizona since its start in 1976.
