Rialto Theatre Announces New Executive Director
Tucson's Rialto Theatre has named Cathy Rivers as its new executive director, effective June 1. Rivers previously worked for KXCI-FM.

TUCSON, AZ — The Rialto Theatre has chosen longtime community radio leader, Cathy Rivers, as its new executive director.
Rivers, who has served as the executive director for Tucson community radio station, KXCI since 2016, has worked in radio, television and live music for 25 years.
Rialto Theatre Foundation Board Chairman, Kip Volpe, expressed excitement at the venue's addition of an industry veteran like Rivers.

"Cathy Rivers is an experienced, talented, proven leader and the perfect person to guide the Rialto Theatre as it emerges from the current health and financial crisis on its way back to prosperity," Volpe said in a theatre release. "She is an asset not only to downtown but all of Tucson."
Prior to joining KXCI, Rivers served as the lead booker for Plush locations in St. Louis and Tucson and as an on-air disc jockey and programming director at KXCI.

"The Rialto Theatre is a vital Tucson institution and a crucial part of downtown, and by extension, our entire community," Rivers said in the release. "It is crucial that she not only survive these unprecedented times, but thrive in spite of them.
"I am confident that my experience, combined with community trust, will aid in solidifying the Rialto's place within the fabric of the Tucson community and expanding its local, regional and national prominence."
