Strong Winds Could Lead To Fires In Tucson, Much Of Southeast AZ
A red flag warning has been issued for much of southeast Arizona, as a significant portion of the area is also under a wind advisory.
TUCSON, AZ — Much of southeast Arizona remains under a red flag warning on Sunday as wind gusts as fast as 50 miles per hour are expected in some areas.
The National Weather Service in Tucson issued the red flag warning for all southeast Arizona except for the western half of Pima County, a Sunday morning update from an alert originally sent Saturday shows.
Red flag warnings, according to the NWS, are issued when warm temperatures are coupled with low humidity and stronger winds to increase the risk of fire damage.
