Tucson has officially hit triple digits for the first time this year, 13 days before the city's average first 100-degree day of the year.

TUCSON, AZ — It's safe to say that summer's officially arrived in the Old Pueblo.

That's because Tucson registered its first 100-degree day of 2021 on Thursday, 13 days before the average date in the city's history for triple-digit temperatures to arrive.

Last year, the Old Pueblo hit 100 degrees for the first time on April 29, a year after the city broke its all-time record for number of 100-degree days, with 108.

Friday provides another chance at triple-digit temperatures in Tucson, with a predicted high of 99 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

The weekend ahead looks set to provide Southern Arizona with a bit of a temperature-related reprieve, with high temperatures of 95 and 92 degrees on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
