Tucson Restaurant Offers 'Pay-What-You-Can' Meals: Report

TUCSON, AZ — A Tucson diner is offering a special deal to customers amid the new coronavirus pandemic. The Welcome Diner is offering meals on a pay-what-you-can basis, an Arizona Daily Star report says, to customers affected by the virus.

The restaurant, in the 900 block of E. Broadway, is offering its staff meal to customers for whatever they can pay. Normally for the staff, consisting of what is on hand in the kitchen, the meal has recently featured butternut squash bisque, jambalaya, salads and more, the report said.

The Star reported Chef Ian Rosales is working on dishes that can be frozen and eaten later. Customers can order off a cut-down version of the menu at regular prices.
