Tucson Road Construction: When Will It End? Here Are 4 Dates
Road work is a mainstay in Tucson, seemingly never ending. But it does. Here are the planned end dates of 4 road projects.
TUCSON, AZ — Many an area resident driving the maze of Tucson streets under construction might wonder, “When will all this road construction end?” and “What exactly is being done to this (or these) road(s)?” While we don’t have all the answers right now, here are the details on 4 Tucson road construction projects currently underway:
- Houghton Road from Flintlock Trail to Fort Lowell Road: Ongoing through Thursday, Dec. 26. Workers are repaving, milling and striping the roadway from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Mount Lemmon from Catalina Highway to Soldiers Trail: Continuing through Thursday, Dec. 26 too. The road is also undergoing repaving, striping and milling from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Palo Verde Road from Mossman Road to the city limits: Work is ongoing through Friday, Dec. 27. The work again is repaving, striping and milling from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Irvington Road from Outlet Center Drive to Country Club Road: Work is underway through Dec. 26, also including repaving, milling and striping from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Motorists should continue to expect minor delays, reduced speed and lane restrictions in these areas. The Pima County Transportation Department asks motorists to obey traffic control and exercise caution in construction areas.
In the case of adverse weather or machinery failures, this schedule might change, however, Pima County advises.
