Tucson Strip Club Shuts Down After Coronavirus Violations

Curves Cabaret in Tucson has been shut down and its liquor license has been revoked after violating state health guidelines.

TUCSON, AZ — A Tucson strip club has been shut down and had its liquor license revoked for failing to enforce coronavirus guidelines, officials said.

Notices have been posted outside of Curves Cabaret, south of Grant Road, telling customers that the business will not reopen until the Arizona Department of Health gives them the go-ahead.

"ADHS has reason to believe that Curves Cabaret is operating in violation of its Attestation and thus is jeopardizing the health, safety and welfare of the public," the notice said, according to reporting from the Arizona Republic.

Bars were able to reopen during the last week of August after an order from Gov. Doug Ducey in June required them to shut their doors to help stop the spread of the coronavirus throughout the state. In order to reopen, bars are required to operate at 50 percent capacity, enforce social distancing, mask-wearing and increase sanitation protocols. All bars also had to fill out an Attestation to adhere to the requirements.

In the notice, the health department indicated that Curves was allegedly violating the capacity restrictions.
