TUSD Economics Teacher Jim Lerch Honored As Teacher Of The Year
Jim Lerch, who teaches economics at University High School is the Arizona Athletics / UA Online High School Southern AZ Teacher of the Year.
TUCSON, AZ – Another honor for Jim Lerch. The economics teacher at University High School has been named Arizona Athletics / UA Online High School Southern Arizona Teacher of the Year.
The Tucson Unified School District says that he "challenges his students to think critically and have an interest in the world around them using economic principles."
It's the second time recently that Lerch has been honored for his work at the school.

In November, he was honored as the 2018 Economics Education Teacher of the Year by the Arizona Council on Economic Education.
Lerch spent 14 years as a lawyer before quitting his practice. He became a high school humanities teacher in 2004.
