Friends of Five Creeks and Belmont Village Senior Living Team Up for Coastal Cleanup Day

To volunteer to help clean up Berkeley and Albany area creeks visit the Friends of Five Creeks website

All ages took part in the Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 16 but the event was especially meaningful to Paul and Mary Grunland (pictured above) as Paul has been a longtime volunteer and activist for the Friends of Five Creeks non-profit organization. The duo took part in hosting volunteers at Belmont Village Senior Living during an organized a clean-up of Codornices Creek where volunteers removed trash and invasives along the stream. The group started at the Albany/Berkley border at San Pablo and moved west. Tools, gloves, bags and water were provided by Friends of Five Creeks and lunch was hosted by Belmont Village.
