2012 PUSD API Scores: Sierra Madre Elementary, Marshall Fundamental Among Top Schools

Sierra Madre Elementary received the highest Academic Performance Index (API) score of the 31 schools in the Pasadena Unified School District, according to 2012 API scores recently released by the California Department of Education.
With a score of 914, Sierra Madre Elementary received a ranking of 9 indicating it scored in the 90th percentile of all elementary schools in the state, according to a database of API data compiled by the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
Madison Elementary was the lowest scoring elementary school in the PUSD, receiving a 1 ranking (10th percentile) based on a score of 713.
Marshall Fundamental high school was the PUSD high school with the highest API score—766—and a ranking of 6.
Alternative school Rose City High (continuation) received 510, the lowest API score in the PUSD overall. Only slightly above it were Learning Works! charter school with 573 and alternative school CIS Academy with 592.
John Muir High School ranked fourth from last in the PUSD, earning a rank of 1 based on a score of 635.
