ALTADENA, CA — Altadena residents without transportation can beat the heat this summer by hopping onto the Beach Bus to Santa Monica.

Los Angeles County Public Works runs the shuttle service, which goes until Sept. 6. Shuttles operate Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, county officials said.

Roundtrip fares cost $3 for adults and children, $1.50 for adults 60 and older. Riders are asked to show up ten minutes before the bus arrives at their stop, officials said.
