Altadena Community Visioning Subcommittee Forming
Altadena Town Council is looking for three community members to serve on a subcommittee that will make recommendations about the community visioning final report.
After three Altadena Community Visioning public meetings, a draft report and a final report summarizing community suggestions, the Altadena Town Council is initiating forming a subcommittee to make further recommendations, Altadena Town Council Chair Bernardean Broadous told Patch Monday.
Since the final community visioning report is complete, the Altadena Town Council can choose to request a Community Standards District update from Los Angeles County and the County can begin initiating the update, Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich’s planning deputy Edel Vizcarra told Patch last week.

The subcommittee, which will be formed by Oct. 9 and is still incomplete, will consist of two Altadena Town Council members and three community members that will take direction from the five-member executive committee and get suggestions from the community about the final report in order to make recommendations to the town council before the council possibly requests an update from LA County.
“One of our goals is to make sure there is enough community participation,” said Broadous.

The visioning subcommittee may suggest community forums to get input on the final report and Broadous said she is hoping the subcommittee can have their recommendations submitted to the town council by mid-spring.
Those interested in applying to serve on the visioning subcommittee can email Broadous at bernardean.broadous@altadenatowncouncil.org or one of the other Altadena Town Council members here.
Broadous, who attended two of the three community visioning meetings, noted the Town Council announced it was looking for subcommittee members after their last meeting on Sept. 18, during which they filled two vacant seats on the council.
Broadous said it was the Town Council’s first priority to fill the two vacancies in order to have all census tracts of Altadena represented. The Town Council’s two newest members are Ed Meyers (CT 4601) and Richard Moon (CT 4611).
