To celebrate National Library Week, we asked our staff and volunteers their favorite ways to use their Altadena Library cards. How many of the following did you know about?

• Check out sewing machines, telescopes, hiking backpacks, virtual reality headsets, and more through the Library of Things collection.
• Access over 400,000 ebooks and audiobooks through cloudLibrary.
• Watch popular movies and listen to the hottest new music releases on hoopla.
• Get discounts and other rewards at local businesses when you show your library card at checkout through our Read Local, Shop Local program.
• Participate in programs and take your learning to the next level with access to seasonal take-home activity kits.
• Enjoy access to Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) software for FREE.
• Login to your catalog account and activate your access to Office 365 at the bottom of the “Your Personal Details” page.
• Check out materials in person at the Main Library or Bob Lucas Memorial Library so that library staff can tell you how much we missed you during quarantine!
• Access an online community calendar, local news, and resources through Altadena Connections.
• Tap into a secure Wi-Fi network at home by checking out a Wi-Fi hotspot or laptop.
• Check out video games and movies for all ages.
