Meeting: How Would You Improve Upper Hahamongna Watershed Park?

The public will hear about and can give input on the $3.3 million Arroyo Seco Canyon Project for habitat restoration, water resources enhancement, water quality improvement and recreation.

If you had $3.3 million to use for improving local wilderness, how would you spend it?

The Arroyo Seco Foundation and Pasadena Water and Power Department are deciding how to spend a state grant for the Arroyo Seco Canyon Project at Hahamongna Watershed Park and are asking for the public’s input on the final design phase at a meeting April 29.

The project is to be used for habitat restoration, water resources enhancement, water quality improvement and recreation.

A presentation will include drawings of the potential stream naturalization and habitat improvements to the fire damaged canyon, according to the Arroyo Seco Foundation.

“Questa Engineers have incorporated the unique Arroyo Seco character into their habitat restoration designs, but we want you, the park users, to oversee this work and identify opportunities for improvement,” the Arroyo Seco Foundation shared in an announcement.

As questions about parking lot layout, habitat improvements and recreational amenities are considered, the ASF and PWP want to know how and when the public uses the trails and other park features.

The meeting is April 29 at 6:30 p.m. at Fire Camp #2 in Hahamongna Watershed Park.
