The Los Angeles Chargers signed former second round draft pick quarterback Geno Smith to a one-year deal.

LOS ANGELES, CA — The Los Angeles Chargers have signed quarterback Geno Smith to a one-year contract, the team announced Sunday.
Smith was drafted in the second round by the New York Jets in 2013 and was the team's starter during his first two years. He played sparingly for the Jets in 2015 and 2016, and appeared in two games for the New York Giants last season.
Smith, who played his college football at West Virginia, has completed 59.7 percent of his passes during his NFL career, passing for over 6,100 yards, with 29 touchdown passes and 36 interceptions.
