E! Catt Sadler Quits After Learning Male Co-Host Earns More

After 12 years with E! Entertainment, Catt Sadler said she is leaving because her co-host makes double her salary.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- Catt Sadler left her job at E! Entertainment this week after learning her co-host, Jason Kennedy, made twice as much money than her. In a heartfelt blog post, Sadler wrote that she was leaving the company after 12 years of living her dream as an on-air personality.

"I know first hand that dreams do come true," Sadler wrote. "For the past twelve years, I've been living mine out loud as one of the hosts on E television. It has been unpredictable, intoxicating, rewarding and hard work."

However, she recently learned Kennedy earned nearly twice her salary even though they work the same job.

"When E reached out to renew and extend my deal, I learned that he wasn't just making a little more than I was," Sadler wrote. "In fact, he was making close to double my salary for the past several years."

Sadler said she attempted to ask for more money but was rejected.

"Information is power," she wrote. "Or it should be. We are living in a new era. The gender pay gap is shrinking, although admittedly we have a long way to go. And well, I learned this first hand."

As a single mother of two, Sadler told her fans she would continue her passion but wanted to explain her departure.
