Gas Prices Brake Since Labor Day

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County decreased Tuesday for the 22nd consecutive day, dropping six-tenths of a cent to $3.113.

The average price has dropped 8.3 cents over the past 22 days, including four-tenths of a cent on Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The decreases follow a run of 16 increases in 17 days totaling 18.2 cents. The average price is 2.9 cents less than one week ago and 3 cents lower than one month ago but 27 cents more than one year ago.

The Orange County average price dropped Tuesday for the 16th time in 17 days, decreasing nine-tenths of a cent to $3.071. It has dropped 9.4 cents over the past 17 days, including one-tenth of a cent on Monday.

The Orange County average price is 3.5 cents less than one week ago and 5.7 cents lower than one month ago but 24.7 cents more than one year ago.
