ALTADENA, CA — While gyms may have already reopened thanks to California’s loosening coronavirus restrictions, some people may still be a little wary of going inside for exercise.

That's why Gloria Sanyika started the Altadena Community Walk Group to provide residents with a safe, socially distant way to burn calories. The group's inaugural walk is scheduled for Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. and will go on walks every Monday, Wednesday and Friday "until the tide changes," according to a statement.

The group will meet at the corner of Altadena Drive and Fair Oaks Avenue and walkers are encouraged to wear a mask, comfortable shoes and any knee or back support they require.
