Project description: This is a public park retrofit and enhancement project funded by the LA County Open Space District. The project includes the creation an ADA pathway across the site, protection of in place existing Canary Island Pines, removal and reinstallation of 4 small existing monuments so they are easier to view and experience, installation of interpretive elements, and new water efficient irrigation per County standards, replacement of a portion of the lawn with native and drought tolerant plantings, and installation of bioswale. As a precursor to this work we have done required Geotechnical testing.

Bidder Qualifications: The bidding contractor must be licensed and have experience with public park projects, be compliant with prevailing wage construction and have all requisite insurance coverage. Specialty in masonry construction, as well as water efficient irrigation and landscaping installation. Contractor must also have prior experience with projects involving the application of green infrastructure techniques such as the installation of bioswale.

Our mission is to create sustainable open spaces, strengthen community life, and preserve the environment in underserved areas of Southern California. Working closely with community members, we strategically partner to design, to build, and to restore parks and open spaces for recreation and education.

· This is a prevailing wage project. The contractor shall agree to pay the prevailing wage rate as determined by the Labor Statistics and Research Division of the California State Department of Industrial Relations

· Amigos de los Rios has worked with at-risk youth on many of our projects. We ask that bidding contractors consider and specify tasks that may be performed by youth core members.

· Those businesses belonging to the Community Business Enterprise Program are encouraged to apply.
