L.A. Airport Agency Opening Bids for Capital Improvement Projects
LAWA is planning to give out several contracts, which have a combined value of about $350 million.

LOS ANGELES, CA - The agency that operates Los Angeles International and Van Nuys airports put out a call this week for companies and consultants to help manage, schedule and provide support services on a wide range of capital improvement projects.
Los Angeles World Airports released a request for proposal seeking professional firms that are able to provide planning and sequencing services for projects, costs analysis, project controls services and construction logistics.
Other tasks include risk assessment, benchmarking, financial capital planning, regulatory enforcement, safety training, area and utility shutdowns and communications.

These services are needed for the airport agency's broad range of capital improvement projects, which could include runway repairs, electrical system rehabilitation, traffic mitigation, demolition, parking structure improvements and others.

LAWA officials said they are looking to hire more local, small, minority, women-owned and veteran-owned firms.
"Maximum inclusion" of such firms is the "highest priority and expectation in this and other future solicitations," LAWA Chief Executive Officer Deborah Flint said.
