New FREE Autism Caregiver Training Program Provides Personalized Assistance for Parents
Local Families Eligible for Free Training Program for Caring for a Child with Autism

Easter Seals is the largest nonprofit provider of therapy services for individuals with autism, and has recently launched a new “Caregiver Training Program” for parents in Los Angeles County looking to learn more about the most effective ways to advance behavioral therapy in the home to address this life-long disability that affects the way a person’s brain functions--challenging his or her communication, social skills and behavior.
Easter Seals’ uniquely personalized Caregiver Training Program focuses on the concept of “Educate, Model, Empower, Support” or EMES. This FREE training program is led by trained clinical supervisors over several weeks to give parents the tools most relevant to assist their child with new learning. The Easter Seals program gives parents a step-by-step guide to effectively teach (model) and encourage their children to master daily tasks such as bathing, cooking and cleaning, as well as tips on dealing with common behavior problems.
