Odor Forces Orphanage Evacuation In Altadena
One person passed out and others were sickened Saturday after being exposed to a strange odor in the kitchen of an Altadena orphanage.
ALTADENA, CA — People fled an Altadena orphanage cafeteria coughing over the weekend, due to a kitchen odor that caused one worker to pass out, authorities said.
The incident was reported at 5:45 p.m. at the orphanage at 760 West Mountain View St., Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Ed Pickett said.
Four people were sickened but only two opted for paramedic transport to hospitals for treatment, firefighters said.
