Walmart Neighborhood Market ‘Hiring Altadena’ Event Next Weekend

The Walmart Neighborhood Market planning to open at Figueroa and Lincoln in Altadena has caused some division and pushback in the community, to say the least.

While some businesses and residents worry it will hinder small, local businesses, others have said the store will draw more people to Altadena and local businesses and make it more attractive for other businesses to move in as well.

Recently, Neighbors for Building a Better Altadena spent Black Friday posting signs in support of Walmart workers at Figueroa and Lincoln and supporting Walmart workers at a large Paramount Walmart store demonstration.

Ultimately, the new Altadena market will need employees so they are holding a “Hiring Altadena” event at Metropolitan Baptist Church next Saturday, Dec. 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
