In the above video Derek Ouyang, Arcadia High's 2009 valedictorian and now a senior double majoring in architectural design and civil engineering at Stanford, talks about a project to design and build a home with zero net annual energy consumption.
Ouyang, along with his classmates, is entering the project in the Solar Decathlon, a U.S. Department of Energy international competition to design the home of the future.
Ouyang came back home to Arcadia this week as a guest speaker at Arcadia High.
