Arcadia Police Round Up: Multiple Burglaries | Shoplifting
The last week of August in Arcadia ended with over 1,000 calls for police to handle.
ARCADIA, CA — Police responded to over 1,000 calls in the last week of August, nearly 125 which required formal investigations, officials said. Among those, Arcadia police investigated mail theft, stolen luggage, and multiple burglaries.
Police made regular calls for traffic stops over the past week, including pulling over a bicyclist in the Foothill Boulevard and Second Avenue area on Wednesday, Aug. 28. The bicyclist was seen riding on the sidewalk in the business district, police said.
"The 39-year-old Arcadia man riding the bike was found to have methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia," police said. He was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

"Police arrested him and transported him to Arcadia City Jail for booking," they said. "His name was not released."
Over the weekend, residents made multiple reports of burglary were reported, including two with similar suspects and strategies.

Arcadia police responded to a burglary at a Palm Drive residence on Friday, Aug. 30, police said. Two men, wearing masks, entered the rear yard of the 200 block home and smashed a glass door, officials said.
"The suspects ransacked the residence before fleeing in a black sedan," police said. "The investigation is ongoing."
Later that same night, officers also responded to another burglary report, again involving a black sedan as the getaway car.
"Again, two men were seen entering the rear yard of the home and smashing the glass sliding door," police said. "They stole several items before fleeing the scene in a black sedan and were seen wearing black hooded sweatshirts, black pants, black masks, and blue gloves."
On Saturday, officers responded to Forever 21 on South Baldwin Avenue after a shoplifting report.
"Two women entered the store carrying bags, and both filled their bags with stolen merchandise," police said. "Loss prevention security guards stopped the women, an 18-year-old Duarte woman, and a 19-year-old Arcadia woman were both cited and released at the scene."
Police did not release their names as of this report.
