Coroner Reveals Cause Of Death In Arcadia Homicide

Both Arcadia Police and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department continue the investigation into the homicide at an East Forest Ave. home

ARCADIA, CA - Over the weekend, the Los Angeles County Coroner's office revealed the cause of death of a 76-year-old woman whose body was found in the backyard of her Arcadia home.

The coroner reported that Chyong Jen Tsai died from "combined effects of multiple sharp force injuries, multiple blunt trauma and asphyxia."

A construction crew working at the 300 block of East Forest Avenue home discovered Tsai's body last Tuesday. Police arrived at the scene around 7 a.m. and called in Los Angeles County sheriff's homicide detectives to assist in the investigation.

Her vehicle was reported stolen, as well as there was evidence of burglary inside the home, according to reports.

Her dog was found unharmed inside the residence, according to sheriff's Sgt. Richard Biddle.

A neighbor told KTLA5 the victim lived in the home with her husband, who was out of the country, and doted on her grandchild.
