Covina Residents ID'd As Victims Of Fatal 6-Car Pile-Up

A 51-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, both of Covina, died in a multi-vehicle crash Sunday morning on the I-10 freeway.

EL MONTE, CA — Two people were identified after a fatal crash on the I-10 San Bernardino Freeway in El Monte over the weekend.

A motorist and a motorcyclist, Rachel Delara, 51, and Anthony Sierra, 25, both residents of Covina, died at the scene of the crash, which occurred early Sunday morning at Valley Boulevard, according to the coroner's office.

The California Highway Patrol reported that Delara was driving a 2003 Acura that crashed into the concrete center divider and stopped between the number one and the carpool lanes.

A Ford crashed into the Acura, and Sierra was riding a 2013 Harley-Davidson motorcycle that crashed into the Ford.

Three other vehicles also hit the Acura, the CHP reported. Paramedics treated three people at the scene for minor injuries. A SIGAlert was issued, and lanes remained closed for approximately 4 hours.

Authorities are still seeking witnesses, and all with information on the crash are urged to call the CHP East Los Angeles office at 323-343-0512.
