Crime Blotter: Hospital Patient Gets Combative, Reckless Driving, Drug Arrests

All the non-property crime from last week in Arcadia.

Sunday, September 22:

 Just after 1:40 a.m., officers responded to Arcadia Methodist Hospital, 300 West Huntington Drive, in regards to a disturbance. After being triaged, a male subject became combative with staff members and other patients. The 50-year-old male was arrested for Interfering With Business Operations and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. A records check revealed the subject was recently arrested for trespassing at the same location. 
 
Monday, September 23:
At about 11:16 a.m., an officer responded to Hugo Reid Elementary, 1000 Hugo Reid Drive, in reference to a child abuse report. A 6-year-old girl came to school with bruises on her face and arm, and explained she was hit with a wooden spoon by her 22-year-old mother. An investigation revealed the suspect had hit the victim multiple times and on numerous occasions. She was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. The victim and her 3-year-old sister were taken into protective custody by the Department of Child and Family Services.  

Wednesday, September 25:
Around 12:44 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traveling 84 miles per hour (MPH) on Campus Drive near Park Avenue, an area posted as a 25 MPH school zone when children are present. The officer discovered the 17-year-old male driver was in violation of his provisional license as he had an under-aged passenger inside the vehicle. He was cited for Reckless Driving and released without incident. His vehicle was impounded for 30 days. 
 
Thursday, September 26:  
Around 1:32 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding in the area of Santa Anita Avenue and Live Oak Avenue. The officer discovered the 24-year-old male driver was under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. 

Friday, September 27: 
Just after midnight, an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a bicyclist for riding with no lights on in the area of Santa Clara Street and Second Avenue. A search of the subject's purse revealed she was in possession of tar heroin and drug paraphernalia. The 25-year-old female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.  

Saturday, September 28:
At about 2:04 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failing to stop at a stop sign on Live Oak Avenue at Las Tunas Drive. An investigation revealed the driver was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and was in possession of cocaine. The 24-year-old male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
