Crime Blotter: Stolen Cello Recovered by Police, Gold Line Site Burglarized
Last week's significant crime incidents from the Arcadia Police Department.

Sunday, September 22:
At approximately 7:22 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Residence Inn by Marriott, 321 East Huntington Drive, in reference to found property. A housekeeper found a bag containing two handguns, ammunition, and pistol magazines inside a vacant hotel room. A records check revealed one handgun was reported stolen out of the City of Industry. The Detective Bureau is conducting further investigation on the room's guest registry list.
Monday, September 23:
Around 3:06 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 100 block of California Street regarding a burglary report. Unknown suspect(s) made entry through a window and fled undetected with various electronics and jewelry. No evidence was located.
Tuesday, September 24:
Around 7:05 a.m., an officer responded to the Metro Gold Line construction site in the area of Cornell Drive and Windsor Road regarding a theft report. Unknown suspect(s) stole approximately 200 metal stakes and 500 pieces of rebar from the location. Over 100 pounds of rebar was also reported missing from the construction site adjacent to Santa Anita Avenue and La Porte Street. The property was left unsecured and no witnesses were located.
Shortly before 4:00 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Nordstrom at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in regards to a theft investigation. A Nordstrom employee processed several fraudulent returns and merchandise markdowns for his girlfriend. The 25-year-old male was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. The girlfriend, a 25-year-old female, is also being considered for theft prosecution.
Wednesday, September 25:
At approximately 4:34 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Macy's at the Santa Anita Mall, 400 South Baldwin Avenue, in regards to a theft report. An adult suspect concealed merchandise inside a used shopping bag and exited the store without making payment. The 59-year-old female was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.
Thursday, September 26:
At about 9:21 a.m., an officer was dispatched to AA Wireless, 425 North Santa Anita Avenue, in regards to an armed robbery that just occurred. An unknown suspect brandished a handgun and demanded cell phones from an employee. The suspect filled a bag with ten iPhones and fled the location in an awaiting blue GMC SUV. The suspect is described as a male wearing a ski mask and a dark colored hooded sweatshirt. No suspects were located; however, the incident was recorded on video surveillance. Further investigation is being conducted by the Detective Bureau.
Friday, September 27:
Shortly after 8:30 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 1600 block of South Fifth Avenue regarding a burglary report. A male suspect entered the victim's open garage and stole property including an iPod and cello instrument. No suspect was located at the time of the report.
A few hours later, the victim found his stolen cello posted on Craigslist. Officers organized an operation and agreed to purchase the property from the seller at Sears, 3801 East Foothill Boulevard. The 35-year-old White male was arrested in the parking lot where he admitted to the burglary. He was transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. A records check revealed he was on felony probation.
Saturday, September 28:
Just after 10:50 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the Arcadia Police Department front counter in reference to a fraud report. The victim explained her credit card, cell phone, and driver's license were stolen at a night club in the City of Los Angeles. An online check of her bank account revealed unknown suspect(s) had made several unauthorized charges.
