Foothill Unity Center Needs Volunteers for Back to School Event
The local charity will distribute school supplies to low-income students at Santa Anita Park next month.
The Foothill Unity Center is gearing up for "Back to School Event 2013" at Santa Anita Park and volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks.
The annual event, scheduled for Tuesday, Au. 15, provides free school supplies and a host of other services to local low-income students.
"We are currently hosting drives for school supplies and other needed items as well as registering volunteers to help us make a difference in the lives of our local students," Foothill Unity Community Outreach Director Raina Martinez wrote in an email.
Residents can help out in the following ways:
- Host a school supply drive
- Make a monetary donation towards the event
- Volunteer your time and kind spirit to the event and preparation activities
