Heatwave Relief Coming To San Gabriel Valley

Abnormally high temperatures continued Thursday across San Gabriel Valley cities in the 4th heatwave of the summer.

ARCADIA, CA — Heat, humidity, and a high pressure system have put San Gabriel Valley residents to the test this week. In the fourth heatwave of the season, the National Weather Service alerted residents of a heat advisory, saying that high temperatures would remain until 9 p.m. Thursday evening, when a cooling trend would prevail.

"Afternoon temperatures across the lower elevation areas will be in the upper 90s to 104 degrees Thursday," the National Weather Service reported.

In addition, overnight low temperatures below 5,000 feet will only cool into the 70s and lower 80s," warned an NWS statement on the advisory.
