Los Angeles County Announces Pet Cooling Centers
The cooling centers, run in partnership with Parks and Recreation, will be open to pet owners from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- In response to a heat alert issued by the Los Angeles County Health Officer, the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control announced Tuesday that five pet-friendly cooling centers have been opened.
They are:
-- Valleydale Park Auditorium - 5525 N. Lark Ellen Avenue, Azusa, 91702
-- Colonel Washington Park Gym - 8908 S. Maie Avenue, Los Angeles, 90002
-- El Cariso Park Gym - 13100 Hubbard Street, Sylmar, 91342
-- Adventure Park Gym - 10130 S. Gunn Avenue, Whittier, 90605
-- Jackie Robinson Park Gym - 8773 E. Avenue R, Littlerock, 93543

The cooling centers, run in partnership with Parks and Recreation, will be open to pet owners from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Pet owners will be provided the use of a cage or a portable kennel to keep their pet nearby while at the cooling center. Pets should be current on their vaccinations and in the care of their pet owners while at the cooling centers.
