Watch: Santa Anita Park Picks Ms. Racing Queen Finalists

Santa Anita Park officials have chosen five women to represent the track in the first Ms. Racing Queen pageant at Gulfstream Park in Florida.

The winner of the title will receive $100,000 and appear at major racing events such as the Preakness Stakes on behalf of The Stronach Group—the parent company of Santa Anita Park and Florida's Gulfstream Park. The runner-up will receive $50,000.

"It’s great to see that the Ms. Racing Queen Pageant is generating a lot of interest," Santa Anita's Social Media Coordinator Katie Abbott told Patch. "Santa Anita Park is thrilled with the top five finalists...and we’re looking forward to the pageant on Sunday."

The five Santa Anita Park finalists will fly to Florida on Thursday to compete against the five Gulfstream Park finalists. The ten Ms. Racing Queen hopefuls were narrowed down from a starting pool of about 400 contestants.
